Turkey expects UN to assume a clear stance against Syria, FM says

MUNICH (A.A) - February 4, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Saturday that they expected UN Security Council to assume a clear stance against Syria.
Davutoglu is attending the 48th Munich Security Council in Germany.
Speaking to Turkish correspondents, he said they were very concerned over developments in Syria.
"Civilian death toll has been rising in Syria day by day. Clashes took place in rural areas in Homs and Damascus. Death toll nears 300 (a day)," he said.
UN Security Council must assume a clear stance against Syria where hundreds of civilians were killed a day, he said
Turkey has been holding talks and exerting great efforts for end of clashes there, he said.
Davutoglu said that he hoped UN and the international community would make a decision to say 'stop' to human tragedy there.
Turkey would keep assisting Syrian people and would do its utmost to end their sufferings, he said.
