Turkish foreign minister: Turkey to launch initiative with Arab League regarding Syria issue

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey, together with Arab League, would launch a new international initiative regarding Syria issue. We are determined in this matter, added Davutoglu who held a press conference at Ankara's Esenboga Airport before he left for the United States on Wednesday. We want to shape a joint understanding basis and find a solution to the tragedy in Syria on a platform apart from the United Nations, said Davutoglu, adding that initiatives would continue in the coming days. Noting that Arab League would convene on Saturday, Davutoglu said that Turkey would hold talks with Arab League term president about Syria following the meeting. Turkey, together with Arab League, would launch a new international initiative regarding Syria issue, said Davutoglu, adding that Turkey could not remain silent towards the bloodshed.
