Unlicensed water slider in Thai South removed

SURAT THANI, THAILAND, March 3 (TNA) - Local authorities have ordered the removal of an unlicensed water slider at a highland resort in Surat Thani Province in the Thai South within 15 days for the sake of public safety. The ordered was issued on Friday after Koh Pha-ngan District Chief Krirkkai Songthani led local officials to inspect the Sai Daeng Resort Koh Tao. The resort agreed to dismantle the water slider as ordered, but its business remains open to provide accommodations for international tourists as usual pending the result of an official probe on land encroachment. The cliffside resort's manager, Kitja Senachitr, meanwhile, showed documents related to his land ownership and land lease for tourism purposes in 2015 on the 18 acre-plot of land. (TNA)
