Number of Russian tourists in UAE surges after cancellation of visas - Lavrov

ABU DHABI, March 7. /TASS/. The mutual cancellation of visas has led to a sharp increase in the number of Russian tourists visiting the United Arab Emirates, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. "We are pleased by the fact that tourist, cultural, humanitarian and educational exchanges have received a powerful boost after the intergovernmental agreement on cancelling visa requirements for the citizens of our two states came into force on February 17," Russia’s top diplomat said at a joint news conference with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday. "The sharp increase in the number of Russian tourists visiting UAE proved that our people appreciated this decision by the two governments," he said. Russia's top diplomat also invited UAE citizens to visit Russia more often. Read more
