Afghan Minister Hails Tehran-Kabul Good Co-op

Kabul, Feb 5, IRNA – Afghan Minister of Higher Education Sarwar Danesh has appreciated Iran for its assistance to the country. Stressing the need to promote mutual cooperation in all fields, he added that granting Afghan students scholarships by Iran is one of the results of the Iranian delegation’s visit to Afghanistan last week. Tehran and Kabul signed two scientific and economic agreements during a session of Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Commission headed by Deputy Economy Minister Behrouz Alishiri, and his Afghan counterpart, Mostafa Mastour. Alishiri visited Afghanistan at the head of a high-ranking delegation to attend the second session of the commission in Kabul. Alishiri described the talks as constructive and said that economic and commercial ties were discussed in details during the two sessions of the commission. Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Commission in its second session discussed cooperation in various fields such as economy, customs house, insurance, standard and fighting drug smuggling. The first session of the commission was held in Iran and it is also to host the third within six months./end
