Ambassador to Serbia presents diplomatic credentials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Serbia Ms T.Gandi presented the diplomatic credentials to Mr Tomislav Nikolic, the President of Serbia, last weekend. At the meeting after this ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed to Mr Nicolic a greeting from the Mongolian President and briefed on a present situation in Mongolia. She noted that the two countries have a big opportunity to widen in all spheres their traditional relations and cooperation, which have been stagnant in recent years. In bringing the ties into a newer level, the first political consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, held February 26 of 2013 in Ulaanbaatar, played its role, and mutual visits of high-level officials ought to be run, she stressed. She also expressed a willingness of Mongolia to arrange/amend contracts and agreements established a long time ago, to augment the trade turnover and investments, and to involve Mongolian students in scholarship programme for studying in the University of Belgrade. The leader of Serbia congratulated Ms Gandi on presenting the credentials and supported her opinions on restoring and expanding the bilateral traditional relations and cooperation. Mr Nikolic promised to do all the best to realize these works together with state bodies. Noting that long-year history of ties between the two peoples is the basis of developing the cooperation, the Serbian leader conveyed his greeting to Mongolia’s President and wished the Mongolians a development and progress. Present at the credentials presentation ceremony were also Jasmina Mitrovic Maric, a chairwoman of the Protocol Service of the Serbian President; Vera Mavric, the State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and diplomats of the Mongolian Embassy.
