Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss joint fight against corruption

Baku, June 7, AZERTAC Azerbaijan`s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and chairman of Pakistan`s National Accountability Bureau Zahir Shah have discussed joint fight against corruption as they met on the sidelines of the 3rd Meeting of Heads of Anti-Corruption Organizations and Ombudsmen of ECO Member States in Baku. They exchanged views over the expansion of relations between the countries` law-enforcement bodies and emphasized the importance of mutual experience in fighting corruption. Garalov highlighted reforms to modernize Azerbaijan`s legal system and create a legal framework for activity of prosecution bodies. He also spoke of activity of the Anti-Corruption General Directorate. Shah praised the two countries` fruitful cooperation in all fields. He said Pakistan always supports Azerbaijan`s just stand in all international events.
