BANQUET GIVEN FOR ANNIVERSARY OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Foreign Ministry together with several Mongolia-Japan friendship societies gave an honor banquet on Monday. The invited were Mr Takenori Shimizu, the Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia, staffers of the Japanese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar. The banquet was dedicated to the 42nd anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan,which falls on February 24. Former PM and head of the Mongolia-Japan Friendship association D.Sodnom talked about ways of intensifying strategic relations and cooperation, citing mutual visits by the PMs of the two countries and establishment of Mongolia-Japan mid-term strategic program that aims at enhanced cooperation in all spheres. He also noted that Mongolia-Japan friendship societies are ready to collaborate with the Foreign Ministry of Mongolia and the Japanese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar. The Ambassador Shimizu praised contributions of these societies to the relations and thanked the host Foreign Ministry for the banquet, held "as an expression of high importance attached to the anniversary of the diplomatic ties".
