British PM wishes quick recovery to Turkish premier
ISTANBUL (A.A) - February 16, 2012 - British Prime Minister David Cameron wished on Thursday quick recovery to Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who underwent a second digestive system surgery.
Prime Ministry officials said that during a phone conversation between Cameron and Erdogan, the latest developments on Syria were discussed.
The conversation lasted for 20 minutes, officials said.
On Saturday, a Prime Ministry Press Center statement said that Premier Erdogan underwent the second and last phase of a digestion system surgery, the first of which was made on November 26, 2011.
"The surgery lasted for 30 minutes, and was successful," the statement said.
The statement said Erdogan's treatment, thus, ended.
"Mr. Prime Minister's health is extremely well, and he plans to be back in his office within next week," the statement also said.
Erdogan underwent a laparoscopic surgery in his digestive system on November 26, 2011, and was discharged from hospital on November 29.
