Elbegdorj: Mongolia-China strategic partnership will deepen

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia has an aspiration to deepen the Mongolia-China strategic partnership relations, and it is important to keep a frequency of high-level visits and talks at the bilateral relations. The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj said it during a meeting held Tuesday with a delegation led by Mr Qiangba Puncog, a deputy chairman of the Standing committee of the People's Congress of the Tibet Autonomous Region, who arrived here to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of the State Head. Noting that foreign delegates have arrived in Mongolia to attend the ceremony, the State Head expressed his thanks to the delegation of China that is neighbour and strategic partner of Mongolia. “Mongolia respects its good neighborhood friendly relations and cooperation and the strategic partnership with People’s Republic of China,” the President said, underlining an importance of the Chinese delegation’s visit for it. In response, Mr Puncog expressed his satisfaction with visiting Mongolia and with attending the ceremony as a representative of Xi Jinping, the President of the PRC. Then he conveyed a greeting of the PRC President to Mr Elbegdorj. Mr Puncog said that the China’s side intends to organize a meeting between the State Heads of the two countries during a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the second half of 2013. In addition, China plans to implement mutual visit of the countries’ Prime Ministers, and also wants the Deputy Premier of Mongolia to take part in the Asia Europe Fair and the Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo to run in September of this year, he added. The China’s side expressed its willingness to deepen the bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, economics, health, culture, media and humanity. These issues were discussed by the PRC President Mr Xi Jinping and the Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold in March. Moreover, China said it is ready to render support to Mongolia in the spheres in transit transportation, infrastructure, sea port, energy and railway. The sides exchanged views on international and regional issues. The State Head thanked the China’s side for supporting an initiative of Mongolia concerning the Ulaanbaatar Talks on Northeast Asia Regional Security. At the end of the meeting, the President hoped that he will meet his counterpart of China during the SCO Summit, and then conveyed his greeting to Mr Xi Jinping.
