Four-party Meet Of Ambassadors In Beirut On Syria

Beirut, Dec 15, IRNA – At the invitation of Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi envoys from Russia, China and Syria gathered in Iran's embassy on Friday afternoon and discussed the latest situation in Syria and practical ways to settle the crisis in that country. In the meeting, the four ambassadors underlined that armed conflicts in Syria with support of a number of alien countries against Syrian government has had no results except massacre and destruction and it must be stopped immediately. The diplomats said the armed terrorist groups have failed to achieve their goals in the past two years. They praised Syrian army, government and nation for resisting against terrorist acts of armed groups which are mainly supported from abroad . The ambassadors had consensus on necessity of a political solution as the sole option for settling the Syrian crisis and underlined stopping financial support and arming the groups, stopping bloodshed and massacre, beginning talks, following process of holding free and healthy parliamentary election and then presidential election in 2014 and determination of Syrian political fate upon its people votes. The four ambassadors, by referring to responsibility of media in disseminating correct news in the region, expressed hope that all international and regional actors in this scene face wisely with political issues and help stop conspiracies and bloodshed./end
