Hamas Doesn’t Interfere In Syria’s Internal Affairs: Hamas Envoy

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA – Developments currently unfolding in Syria are internal affairs and Palestine Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) will never interfere in Syrian internal affairs, Hamas Representative in Tehran said on Sunday.
Khaled Qadoumi made the remarks in a news conference in response to a question about Hamas stance vis-à-vis Syrian developments.
He further noted that Hamas made its stance completely known in a statement since the start of crisis in the Arab state.
“More than 60,000 Palestinian refugees are currently living in Syria and we don’t want any party in the country attract them towards itself,” he said, noting that this does not mean Hamas will play no role to help resolver the Syria crisis.
Hamas will support legitimate demands of the Islamic Ummah in the line with the materialization of freedom, citizen rights, human dignity, social justice and fighting corruption.
“Our hearts get painful when a drop of blood is shed,” he said, hoping that peace and stability will prevail in the Islamic states.
Meanwhile, former Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Sheikhoeslam told the same conference that the way how Syrian crisis will end will mark the future structure of world order.
The US’ efforts to determine the future government of Syria is against UN Charter, Qadoumi said, noting that Saudi Arabia foreign minister has clearly talked about military intervention in Syria.
He said that Iran, Syria, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Hamas Movement and Islamic Jihad are the pivot of resistance in the region./end
