Indian Expert: Attack On Syria will Be Latest Irreparable Mistake Of US

New Delhi, Sept 3, IRNA -- An Indian expert of the international affairs believes that the expected military attack on Syria would be the latest in the repeated irreparable mistakes of the US. In an exclusive interview with IRNA here on Monday, the content editor of the Sahara Media Group Miss Arti Bali said: “With the US operation in Afghanistan already turning out to be an utter failure in the terms of quitting without providing stability in the country and having created the conditions for the spring revolutions in Egypt and other countries in the Mid-East, the US president Obama would only add another chapter to the sequence of his irreparable mistakes if he decides to launch a military attack on Syria.” Terming any military attack on Syria potential of leading to a much wider war, she said: The US plan to attack Syria will put the Western powers along with the Sunni forces represented by the Saudi Arabia and Qatar on a warpath with Russia, China and Iran, leading to a much wider and even another world war. Referring to the opposition of many nations and international bodies to any military attack on Syria, the seasoned analyst of the world affairs said: not only the US lawmakers have urged president Obama to exercise restraint in dealing with Syria as the situation may go out of control the major players such as Russia, China and Iran have condemned any possible attack of the US on Syria and even Russia has issued a strong warning against the US’s planned military strikes stating that any military strike on Syria can have “catastrophic consequence” for the region and the international community should show prudence over the crisis.” According to Arti Bali, the Russian foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich has declared that Attempts to bypass the Security Council, once again to create artificial groundless excuses for a military intervention in the region are fraught with new suffering in Syria and catastrophic consequences for other countries of the Middle East and North Africa and they are calling on American partners and all members of the world community to demonstrate prudence and strict observance of international law, especially the fundamental principles of the UN charter.” Endorsing the warning of the Iranian Supreme leader on the disastrous consequences of any military action against Syria, she said: No doubt, the US intervention in Syria would be a disaster for the Middle East.” “It may also not be out of place to mention that the US actions in toppling various regimes, in fact, have resulted in creating conditions for revival of AL-Qaeda elements in countries such as Libya, Egypt and Syria”, Arti Bali added.
