Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan to enhance cooperation in drug fight

TEHRAN,March 16(MNA) – Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan, the frontrunners in the campaign against drug trafficking, are determined to enhance their cooperation in this respect, the Iranian interior minister said on Friday.
Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli made the remarks at the international meeting in Vienna on global efforts to combat narcotics.
The three countries called on the global community, specifically the UN, to do more cooperation in this regard, Rahmani Fazli said.
He went on to say that the three countries want to make more efforts in the campaign against drug trafficking to prevent its social and economic harms.
The international meeting on global efforts to combat narcotics was held in Vienna on March 13-14.
Yury Fedotov, executive director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), also attended the meeting.
He praised Iran’s campaign against narcotics trafficking on Thursday.
