Iran-Lebanon Review Latest Regional Developments

Beirut, May 28, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri here on Tuesday discussed latest regional developments as well as issues of mutual interests. During the meeting, Roknabadi submitted Majlis Speaker Ali Larijaniˈs message to his Lebanese counterpart felicitating anniversary of the resistance day in Lebanon. Referring to an upcoming international conference on Syria in Tehran on May 29, Roknabadi said Iran has been making its all-out efforts to peacefully settle the Syrian crisis. Representatives form over 40 world states as well as United Nations representative are to attend the Tehran conference on Syria. From the early days of conflicts in Syria, Iran has stressed the need to hold negotiations to settle the crisis, said the Iranian envoy. The Lebanese parliament speaker, too, said Iran has been playing a key role in solving regional problems, adding it has taken effective steps towards settlement of the crisis in Syria. Terming the current situation in region and Lebanon as critical, Berri stressed the need to maintain unity to fight the enemiesˈ plots./end
