Iranian MPs suggest meeting between Majlis, president over subsidy plan

TEHRAN, April 11 (MNA) – A number of MPs have sent a letter to Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani suggesting that the president and ministers be invited to attend a Majlis session by the beginning of summer to hear the views of lawmakers so that the second phase of the subsidy reform plan could be implemented through effective coordination between the parliament and the administration. The administration has taken the preliminary steps to implement the second phase of the subsidy reform plan, but the Majlis has called the move illegal and believes that the implementation of the plan should have been delayed until summer due to the increase in prices of goods. Elyas Naderan, Hossein Nejabat, Ali Reza Marandi, Ahmad Tavakkoli, Parviz Sorouri, Hossein Fadaii, Hossein Zolnour, Zohre Elahian, Mohammad Dehqan, Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Ali Reza Zakani, Ja’far Qaderi, Gholam Reza Mesbahi Moqaddam, Hamid Sa’adat, and Amir Hossein Rahimi have signed the letter.
