Iraqi PM Calls For Immediate Settlement Of Iran Nuclear Dispute

Baghdad, Nov 12, IRNA -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Sunday called for an immediate settlement of Iranian nuclear dispute and making whole Middle East region free from nuclear weapons. He made the remarks in a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano in Baghdad. Prime Minister al-Maliki expressed his country's support for IAEA efforts to stop proliferation of nuclear weapons and said exclusion of anyone in the region from the NPT will definitely lead to arms race in the Middle East. He expressed his country's readiness to use all potentials to achieve an immediate settlement to the dispute and establish peace and stability in the region. The prime minister said that Iraq is a part of the region and is concerned about being affected by arms race. Iraq hosted Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks last May./end
