Israel is playing on others’ sympathy through accusing Iran

TEHRAN,March 14(MNA)--During his regular press conference, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast replied to a question asked by the correspondent for the Tehran Times about the report published in the March 7 edition of the Turkish daily Hürriyet, which read that Israel had sent a letter to Ankara warning against Iranian individuals planning attacks on Israeli diplomats on Turkish soil. “The Zionist regime’s allegations against our country… are due to the activities of intelligence agents of the Zionist regime and its involvement in the assassinations of our nuclear scientists and our academics. Due to the tense atmosphere that have been created against the Zionist regime and the atrocities that it has committed, it has started to disseminate propaganda in various countries (and) is trying to play on others’ sympathy and give the impression that the Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking to assassinate diplomats of the Zionist regime. And they (the Zionists) are taking an evasive action through taking these measures,” he stated. U.S. should respect any verdict Iran’s Judiciary issues When asked about reports saying that U.S. officials have welcomed the fact that the death sentence verdict issued for Amir Mirza-Hekmati, who was arrested by Iranian intelligence agents on a charge of spying for the CIA in 2011, had been overturned, Mehmanparast said, “This is a judicial case and is following its normal course. U.S. officials and other countries should welcome any verdict that is issued. Independence of our country’s Judiciary branch (of the government) should be respected.”
