Larijani: US Plotting To Weaken Resistance Against Zionist Regime

Tehran, Jan 3, IRNA – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani here Monday warned against US plots aimed at sowing seeds of discord among regional countries and weakening resistance against the Zionist regime. Larijani made the comment in a meeting with the Head of the Turkish Parliament’s Friendship Group with Palestine Murad Yildirim and other members of that group, adding, “Palestine and its fate are vital issues of high significance for the Islamic world.” Elaborating on the Zionist regime’s recent moves aimed at changing the cultural and Islamic identity of Holy Qods and Judaizing it, Larijani added: “The notorious acts of the occupier regime of Qods aimed at changing the historical and Islamic identity of the Holy Qods and Judaizing it in recent weeks in continuation of their criminal acts during the past six decades are in the context of an approach which is not ignorable for the Islamic world, and the limbs of the Islamic body must resist resolutely against this policy.” Larijani further said that this colonialist, antagonist policy is from the fear of death, aimed at ridding the Zionist regime of the misery of segregation, as well as the shock due to the regional revolutions. "The Islamic Republic of Iran and The Republic of Turkey, as two major countries of the Islamic world, play significant roles in illuminating the world public opinion on this great and historical crime against the historical and Islamic identities of the Middle East region,” Larijani said. Referring to the good Tehran-Istanbul ties, Larijani added that the two Muslim neighboring countries enjoy friendly and brotherly ties and share many commanalities and incentives for further expansion of mutual ties. For his part, the Head of the Turkish Parliament’s Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Group Murat Yildirim said at the meeting that the objective of his delegation’s visit of Iran and other non-Islamic counties was gaining the support of the pro-Palestinian groups and organizations at various Islamic councils and the human rights organizations to rise for supporting the Palestinian nation. He added, “Iran and Turkey have always been in the front-line of supporting the oppressed Palestinians and the political and parliamentary moves aimed at ridding the Palestinians of the notorious oppression and injustice of the racist Zionist regime must be pursued at vaster scale that ever before today.”/end
