MFA: Mongolians in Egypt are safe

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that about sixty mongolians in Egypt are safe. The Ministry reported it by its statement released on Friday in conjunction with a riot which started on June 30 in Egypt with a demonstration to protest Mohamed Morsi. For the time being, the situation has stabilized thanks to transmitting the state power to the country’s military, the statement says. During the riot, the Mongolian Embassy in Cairo has warned its people about the riot actions therefore it is taking security measures such as sheltering some citizens of Mongolia in the Embassy building. In addition, the Foreign Ministry keeps contact with the Embassy to give related directions and recommendations and to exchange information. The Ministry has recommended Mongolians should not travel this country until the situation becomes stable although the country is under a military regime.
