MONGOLIAN EDUCATION CENTER OPENS IN UK

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Opening ceremony of the Mongolian Education Center in East Midlands took place March 1 in Nottingham city, UK. Main objectives of the center are to hold Mongolian language training for Mongolians and their children in eastern regions of the UK and to advertise the Mongolian history and culture. Present at the ceremony were Mr N.Tulga, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the UK; Mr S.Gankhuyag, the Counsellor of the Mongolian Embassy; Ya.Bolortuya, a teacher of the Educational Center; authorities of Nottingham city council. During the ceremony, a greeting from Her Highness Elizabeth II, the Queen of the UK was read, congratulating on launching the Educational Center in East Midlands. Moreover, a British Labour Party politician and MP Ms Lilian R.Greenwood sent a congratulatory message to the center, noticing an importance of the culture and history for the UK-based Mongolian children. Mr Tulga spoke about the governmental goals and measures for teaching our national language to Mongolian children abroad, and mentioned actions of the Embassy within these goals. He underlined the Mongolians' efforts to open this center and promised to support its works. After this the Ambassador gave certificates to 19 pupils who graduated an elementary Mongolian language course at the center.
