MP Stresses Need To Work Out A Solution To Terrorism

Tehran, May 7, IRNA – Head of executive council of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard vehemently condemned terrorist operations against different Islamic sects and said the forum has to find out a solution to the problem of terrorism. Making the remark in the opening ceremony of the body’s executive council meeting, he said massacre of defenseless people on the sectarian and religious pretexts is against teachings of the Holy Quran and tarnishes the benevolent portrait of Islam. He urged all scholar and ulema of the Islamic world to collectively condemn the sectarian killings and invite Muslims to practice tolerance by following the teachings of the holy prophet of Islam (PBUH). Noting that terrorist operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria claim lives of many women and children everyday, he said the Asian Parliamentary Assembly has to make proper decisions in this regard. Pointing to potentials of Asian countries in terms of their production capacities, energy resources, territorial expansion, young and expert work forces and growing economies, he said this enables the continent to play a more effective role in establishing sustainable economy and promoting convergence, peace and friendship./end
