ORIGINAL OF CONSTITUTION PLACED IN STATE MUSEUM

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 22nd anniversary of passing the new Constitution of Mongolia, a ceremony took place Monday to place the original document of the Constitution in the Museum of State, the State House. Present at the ceremony were P.Tsagaan, a head of the Presidential Office; B.Boldbaatar, a secretary-general of the Parliamentary Office; J.Sereejav, a head of the State Protocol Service; and Lieutenant-Colonel Ts.Monkhtuvshin, a head of the State House Guard service. The original of Mongolia’s democratic new Constitution is kept usually in the office room of the President, and a newly elected president swears in by putting his/her right hand on the Constitution. The document "has moved" to the museum for a week in anticipation of the Day of Constitution. The main legal document was adopted January 13 of 1992and put into force on February 12. It was amended in 1999 and 2001. The new Constitution established a parliamentary democracy in Mongolia, guaranteeing freedom of religion, rights, travel, expression, unalienable rights, government setup, election cycle, and other vital matters. It was created after the 1990's Mongolian democratic revolution.
