Pakistani Lawmaker Backs Iran Peaceful N-program

Islamabad, Feb 28, IRNA – A Pakistani lawmaker on Monday said that Iran should be allowed to acquire peaceful nuclear technology without any pressure. Talking to IRNA Senator Mir Lashkari Raisani of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) asked if US and Israel along with many other countries can have nuclear warheads then why Iran is not allowed to pursue a peaceful nuclear program. He said Iran has been assuring the world that it is acquiring the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and it has no plans to make a nuclear bomb. “Iran is a responsible state and we must accept the Iranian stance over its peaceful nuclear activities,” stressed the politician. Mir Lashkari Raisani added that Iran is fully cooperating with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) then there is no reason left to doubt Iran’s nuclear program. “Actually US and western countries cannot tolerate development in Islamic countries, they want the Muslim states to remain backward,” he believed. President PPP Baluchistan added that today Pakistan is facing difficulties only because the country has a nuclear bomb. He said being signatory to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), it is Iran’s right to develop a peaceful nuclear program without any external pressure. He was confident that anti-Iran elements will fail to accomplish their evil designs against Iran. Praising the progress of Iran he said that throughout the history Iran has never accepted any kind of pressure. “It is amazing to see that Iran today is developing in all fields despite western curbs,” said the politician. He said that conspiracies cannot weaken Islamic Revolution in Iran which is flourishing for past many years. “We have always appreciated the progress of Iran,” he said. The Senator said that Iran has proved to the world that it is a sovereign and independent state./end
