President: Iran’s Scientific Moves To Expand Justice, Friendship

Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said expansion of friendship among nations and promotion of justice in the human society are main objectives of Iran's scientific achievements. Addressing the 25th International Kharazmi Festival here on Sunday, he said the West and Iran look at the issue of science and technology from two different aspects. He said Iran sought scientific progress and technological achievements not to dominate other nations but to promote friendship, love and justice among nations to maintain the ultimate goal of advancing the human society. The Iranian president stressed that unfaithful people who believe in nothing and are in control of world’s power centers, think their dignity and progress are tied to backwardness and humiliation of others. Ahmadinejad said this is why big powers keep plundering other nations wealth and resources. The 25th International Kharazmi Festival is held every year to introduce and honor achievements of Iranian and foreign researchers and academicians. During the event, President Ahmadinejad awarded top researchers with badges and certificates of honor. During the one-day festival, 31 projects chosen out of 1,519 projects received by the festival secretariat will be presented. The foreign projects are from the 46 various world states./end
