PRESIDENT KH.BATTULGA MET WITH AMBASSADOR OF KUWAIT TO MONGOLIA KHALED AL-FHADLI

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, on August 3, President Kh.Battulga received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kuwait to Mongolia Khaled Al-Fadhli.
At the beginning of meeting, Ambassador Khaled Al-Fadhli congratulated President Kh.Battulga for getting elected as the head of state of Mongolia and mentioned the Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah’s letter, informing that the letter stated President Kh.Battulga’s response letter was delivered to the Government of Kuwait.
Also, the Ambassador presented the Emir’s heir and Crown Prince of Kuwait Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah’s letter to the President.
President Kh.Battulga expressed his gratitude for the response letters and noted that the two countries’ cooperation engaged in a wide frame since first establishing diplomatic relations in 1975. Furthermore, the President addressed the facing issues of Ulaanbaatar City, such as traffic, smog and air pollution, and mentioned that the difficulties could be solved by improving urban planning and building a new satellite city.
Ambassador Khaled Al-Fadhli addressed Emir Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah’s high appreciation towards the development of high-level bilateral political relations and informed that the economic cooperation could be further expanded as well.
“Many years ago, the State of Kuwait’s USD 12 million non-refundable aid for rebuilding Mongolian Parliament House was redirected and USD 8 million was funded to health sector, while USD 4 million was used in other sectors in need for fund” said Ambassador Khaled Al-Fadhli and informed that Kuwait has been investing in Mongolia’s Health and Infrastructure sectors from Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
Ambassador Khaled Al-Fadhli supported the President’s proposed idea of creating a new satellite city and expressed Kuwait’s willingness to cooperate in one of the projects and programs through Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
President Kh.Battulga informed that Mongolia is in possible danger of desertification and discussed possibilities of studying practices of neutralizing desertification, reforestation and grassland establishment.
After highlighting desertification as a topic of interest, Ambassador Khaled Al-Fadhli addressed to discuss the issue in the next official meetings.
