Putin, Abe discuss Syria, Ukraine - Lavrov

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have discussed Syria and also the need to implement the Minsk agreements on settling the Ukrainian crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters. "Naturally, they exchanged views on the Syrian settlement and the situation in Ukraine in the light of the need for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Here our positions almost coincide," Lavrov said. During the talks, Putin "detailed our assessments of the current stage of work on breaking the deadlock in the implementation of the February 12, 2015 Minsk agreements," Lavrov said. Read more
