Syrian Parliamentary Delegation Departs For Tehran

Damascus, Sept 24, IRNA - Chairman of the Tribal Security Commission of the Syrian Parliament Mohamed Sobhi Abushamat on Sunday left for Tehran for talks with Iranian official.
Heading a seven member delegation including the Chairwoman of the Arab and Foreign Relations Commission of Syrian Parliament Fadia Daib, he is to confer with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and other Iranian legislators and officials on bilateral parliamentary relations and other issues of mutual interest.
They visit Iran upon an official invitation from the Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
In August, Boroujerdi traveled to Syria at the head of a parliamentary delegation and held talks with the country's officials on bilateral ties and ways of solving the crisis in the Arab country.
He held separate meetings with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, his deputy Farouk al-Sharaa and other senior officials of the country.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police force and border guards being reported across the country.
In October, calm was eventually restored to the Arab state after President Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but Israel, the US and its Arab allies are seeking hard to bring the country into chaos through any possible means. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been conspiring various plots in the hope of stirring unrests in Syria once again.
The US and its western and regional allies have long sought to topple Bashar al-Assad and his ruling system. Media reports said that the Syrian rebels and terrorist groups have received significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, a crime paid for by the Persian Gulf Arab states and coordinated by the United States./end
