Turkey to support Kyrgyzstan's efforts to restore rule of law, democracy, peace, stability
ANKARA (A.A) - February 9, 2012 - Turkey's president said on Thursday that Turkey would continue to support Kyrgyzstan's efforts to restore rule of law, democracy, lasting stability.
President Abdullah Gul said that Turkey had always stood by Kyrgyz people since their country had gained independence.
"We will maintain our strong support to efforts aiming to restore democracy, rule of law and lasting stability in Kyrgyzstan with determination," Gul said in a message he sent to Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev to mark the 20th anniversary of establishment of Turkish-Kyrgyz diplomatic relations.
In a response to Gul, Atambaev thanked Turkey, which was the first country to recognize independence of contemporary Kyrgyzstan, for its strong support.
Atambaev expressed belief that the common declaration released on the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations would boost cooperation between the two countries.
The Kyrgyz president also said Turkey's dynamic change and its geographical location in its region and the world contributed to development of bilateral relations.
