Turkish fm: UN should also make humanitarian aid to Syria

ANKARA (A.A) - February 15, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said that the United Nations should take action to help with Syria issue not only in political aspect but also in humanitarian aspect. Holding a joint press conference after his meeting with Bakir Izetbegovich, Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Ankara on Wednesday, Davutoglu said that the outcome of the draft on Syria issue, which would be presented to the UN General Assembly, would not be a binding one. However, its psychological influence should not be ignored, added Davutoglu. We expect a warning message to Syrian administration from the meeting on Syria in Tunisia, he said. UN should take action to make not only political help but also humanitarian help in Syria issue, said Davutoglu, adding that Turkey was exerting efforts in this aspect.
