UN general assembly president to attend conference on mediation in Istanbul

ANKARA (A.A) - February 23, 2012 - The president of the 66th Session of the United Nations General Assembly will attend the Istanbul Conference on Mediation in Turkey, Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday. A ministry statement said Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser was paying a formal visit to Turkey on February 23-25, and he would attend the Istanbul Conference on Mediation. During his visit to Turkey, Al-Nasser will meet Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, and be received by President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.  Al-Nasser is expected to exchange views with Turkish executives on important international issues concerning the United Nations.
