US Policies In The Region Condemned

Islamabad, Feb 21, IRNA – Pakistan's senior religious leaders on Monday condemning American policies in the region said that US was responsible for instability in Pakistan and the region.
Thousands of people attended the sit-in organized by Pakistan Defense Council (PDC) in the Islamabad against the policies of US.
The protestors warned the government against opening of Nato supply routes.
The leaders speaking on the occasion denounced US drone strikes and demanded expulsion of the US from the region. They asked for permanent closure of Nato supply routes.
The leaders warned that if Nato supply route is reopened the Pakistan Defense Council along with the Pakistani nation will close the route by themselves.
Speaking to IRNA, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan said that if Pakistan wants stability then it has to come out of a proxy war. He demanded the government to provide security to the people of Pakistan.
Chairman of Pakistan Defense Council (PDC) and chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Samiul Haq talking to IRNA said that US should leave the region immediately.
He strongly believed that US drone attacks on Pakistani soil are open violation of the country's sovereignty.
Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Liaquat Baloch advised the government to enhance its cooperation with the neighboring states and reject American pressure.
Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer Secretary General of Jamiat Ahle Hadith strongly condemned the possible reopening of Nato supply routes adding that the US policies have made the region unstable.
In the sit-in banners were strung up in a bustling commercial area of Islamabad denouncing US drone strikes and re-opening the Afghan border to Nato convoys.
“Go America Go,” “No to Nato,” “Arrogant Americans – others are also human beings,” and “the chains of slavery will now break up,” read the banners./end
