Zarif, Palestinian Counterpart Meet

Tehran, Aug 4, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif here on Monday held talks with his Palestinian counterpart Riyadh Al-Maliki on regional developments, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza in particular. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the emergency meeting of Palestine Committee of the Non-Aligned Movement opened in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani this morning. Al-Maliki has traveled to Tehran to attend the NAM Palestine meeting. The NAM Palestine Committee is comprised of 13 countries, namely, Palestine, Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Colombia and Cuba. Representatives from 40 countries along with NAM ambassadors are participating in the day-long meeting. The Zionist regime has launched large-scale offensive on the Gaza Strip since July 8 targeting civilians, health centers and schools from the air, land and the sea killing over 1,700 Palestinians and injuring several thousands./end
