Mongolia leads Chingis Khaan Judo Grand Prix

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Under auspices of the President of Mongolia, the Chingis Khaan Judo Grand Prix tournament with a prize fund of USD 100 thousand successfully took place on July 13-14 in the “Buyant-Ukhaa” sports complex, Ulaanbaatar city. The national team of Mongolia topped the tournament, winning seven gold, seven silver and 12 bronze medals. Mongolia was followed by the Republic of Korea that grabbed four gold, three silver and five bronze medals; and the Czech Republic—one gold, one silver and one bronze medals. This year’s tournament which promoted to a status of Grand Prix attracted some 140 judokas from 18 countries including Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, USA and Uzbekistan. A winner of the each weight category gained 300 points of the world ranking by the International Judo Federation (IJF), the silver medalist—180 points and bronze medalist—120 points.
