Mongolia wins 22 medals at Universiade

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The national university team of Mongolia has captured three gold, five silver and 14 bronze medals so far in the Summer Universiade running in Kazan city, Russia.
A wrestler B.Sugarjargal grabbed the very first gold medal in the men’s +100 kg weight category contest of belt-wrestling. A boxer Kh.Enkhdelger won the second gold medal in the men’s 52 kg contest, beating Misha Aloyan of Russia, an Olympic bronze medalist and World champion.
An Olympic bronze medalist, World champion and State Honored Sportswoman S.Battsetseg won the third gold medal in the freestyle wrestling, competing in women’s 63 kg.
Silver and bronze medals went to Mongolians competing in belt-wrestling, judo, shooting, freestyle wrestling, kurash, boxing and sambo wrestling.
For the time being, 51 countries have won at least one medal in the Universiade. Mongolia is being ranked 13th place.
