Mongolians to participate in World Games 2013

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian athletes will take part in the World Games 2013 that will run from July 25 to August 4 in Cali city, Colombia. They will compete in sumo and aerobics events only. The sportsmen are headed by Ch.Darisuren, the secretary-general of the Gymnastics Federation of Mongolia, and U.Togoldor, the secretary-general of the Sumo Federation of Mongolia. This year’s Games will take place in 31 official sports and five individual sports. The World Games, first held in 1981, are an international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that are not contested in the Olympic Games. The World Games are organized and governed by the International World Games Association (IWGA), under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Mongolia participated in the World Games for the first time in 2009 in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, and grabbed one gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
