Thai Windsurfers ready for Olympic 2016

PATTAYA July 19 (TNA) - The Windsurfing Association of Thailand believes Thai windsurfers will gain success in the upcoming Olympics Games in Brazil. The comments came after Thai windsurfing team was awarded two quota places in the RS: X; one for male's and another for female's event. The Windsurfing Association of Thailand then selected the country's team delegation to the 2016 Rio Olympics which were Nattapong Phonopparat and Siriporn Kaewduangngam. Meanwhile, Aran Hormraruen, former Thai national team windsurfer, was chosen as coach and team managers. Citing the performances that both athletes achieved from the 2016 RS:X European Windsurfing Championship, Mr.Ittipol Khunplume, Chairman of the Windsurfing Association of Thailand, expressed his confidence that Thai windsurfers would not disappoint Thai people. He also insisted that the two windsurfers were absolutely ready for the competition. However, to avoid pushing pressure on the athletes, Mr.Ittipol said he initially set a goal that Thailand's windsurfer team tally good scores to finish in top 20 place. Thailand's windsurfing team is scheduled to travel to Brazil on 25th July, which is 14 days in advance of the competition for their practice in order to gain more familiarity with the weather conditions and the location. Rio's windsurfing competition will be held at Marina Da Gloria in Rio De Janeiro during 8-18 August. (TNA)
