Clues Found To Bring Perpetrators Of Cyber Attacks To Justice

Tehran, May 2, IRNA – Clues have been found to bring perpetrators of cyber attacks to justice and the prosecutor is following up the case, Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Police Brigadier-General Ismail Ahmadi Moqaddam said on Tuesday. He told reporters that the prosecutor is currently involved in identifying perpetrators of the cyber attacks in cooperation with Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the ministries attacked. “In terms of theft, it is the responsibility of the Islamic Republic of Iran Police, but, the ministries themselves are also responsible for taking security measures to thwart cyber attacks.” Ahmadi Moqaddam said that the cyber attacks created problems, but, at the same time, they provided an opportunity to identify the flaws and take warnings of the Islamic Republic of Iran Police seriously. He said that foreign made security systems have their own flaws, calling for focusing on setting up Intranet and domestic security measures. He complained that the ministries have failed to heed warnings of the police and said the guidelines of the High Council on Administration of National Cyberspace designated by the Supreme Leader will thwart the threats in this respect. “Fortunately, great steps have been taken to turn the threats to opportunities. The Islamic Republic of Iran Police has formed a special team for the purpose.” /end
