MONGOLIAN AMBASSADOR TO INDIA PROMOTES TOURISM

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian Ambassador to India G.Ganbold attended a conference themed ‘Broadening Regional Cooperation in Tourism Sector’ held in New Delhi on September 28-29.
The conference was co-organized by the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the Government of India.
Ambassador G.Ganbold delivered a speech at the conference, illustrating the tourism sector development, traditional culture, natural landscape and famous landmarks and historical sites in Mongolia, and promoting Mongolia as a tourist destination.
The Ambassador informed the conference participants that Mongolia receives about 470 thousand tourists a year, and the number is projected to increase further.
“The Mongolian Government aims to increase this number to one million in the next five years, by means of supporting tourism infrastructure development, establishing tourist destinations and regionalizing tourism,” Ambassador G.Ganbold said.
The Government of Mongolia identifies tourism as a priority sector for the economy. “Mongolia is ready to cooperate in tourism sector and realize certain projects,” he noted.
