World #QuranHour Convoy Arrives In Malaysia's Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), June 4 (Bernama) -- A convoy of 1,200 motorcyclists in the Ride for World #QuranHour (picture) from Kuala Lumpur arrived at the Karangkraf Media Group complex here at about 6pm on Sunday. The arrival of the convoy with two World #QuranHour ambassadors – Malaysian celebrities Rosyam Nor and Norman Hakim – were greeted by about 200 visitors and the top management of the Karangkraf Media Group. During the ride from the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur to Shah Alam, the convoy stopped at four other mosques, namely, the Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque, Muaz bin Jabbal Mosque, Ar-Rahman Mosque and Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in an effort to promote the World #QuranHour. It’s Chef De Mission Rosile Saat Al-Gayawi said during the visit to the mosques, the convoy presented each mosque with two copies of the Quran to symbolise the event. “This programme is seen to be a success as it has attracted participants from various age groups, from those who are in their early 20s to the ones in their 70s, in an effort to ensure appreciation in the importance of the Quran in everyday life among the Muslim community,” he said when met by reporters here Sunday. “This is the first time we participated in such programme and hopefully we will be able to continue in the future in attracting young people to participate in spiritual and Islamic activities,” he said. World #QuranHour this year will be held at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) on Thursday which will be participated by approximately 5,000 Muslims.
