File photo of Vijay Bahuguna who will be the next Chief Minister of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. 65-year old Bahuguna, son of late leader Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna, was chosen Monday by Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi, who was authorised by the newly elected party legislators to take a decision in the matter, after taking the views of party MPs and MLAs. A former Judge of the Allahabad and Bombay High Courts, Bahuguna is Vice-President of the Uttarakhand unit of Congress and is a second-term Member of Parliament representing Tehri Garhwal constituency of the state. Hailing from a political family, Vijay's father was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh long time back and his sister Rita Bahuguna Joshi is currently the President of Congress Party's Uttar Pradesh unit.He is also a cousin of Uttarakhand's outgoing BJP chief minister B C Khanduri.
