President Ahmadinejad Receives New Spanish Envoy

Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received the new Spanish Ambassador Pedro Biena here on Tuesday afternoon. According to the report of Presidential Office website, President Ahmadinejad told the Spanish envoy there is no negative or dark point in bilateral relations between Tehran and Madrid. He expressed hope that regarding existing intention in both sides, mutual ties can be expanded more and more. He added that Iran welcomes expansion of relations with all countries. The president continued that all nations and governments should participate in creation of a just system and establishment of peace and security in the world. He added that time for those who wanted to govern the world and make other nations obey them is over. Creating tension won't help solve existing problems, Ahmadinejad said, stressing that existing economic problems in Europe and the USA have imposed heavy pressure on people. 'Of course, the US has always created tension, war and conflicts to remove its own problems, but nowadays, these methods do not work any more.' In the meeting, the Spanish new ambassador to Tehran submitted his credentials and in his speech called Iran a country with an outstanding ancient culture and civilization. He added that Iran and Spain have always had very positive and constructive ties and mutual exchanges level have raised in recent years. He expressed regret over the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists and said that Spain is really sorry for the assassination of Ahmadi-Roshan./end
