Supreme Leader Casts Vote For 9th Majlis Elections

Tehran, March 3, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei cast his vote for the 9th parliamentary elections Friday morning. At the early moments of the opening of the balloting stations, the Supreme Leader cast his vote for 30 candidates in Tehran constituency. Over 48 million Iranians are eligible to vote in 46,924 balloting stations nationwide for the 9th Majlis elections which started at eight o’clock local time. 48,288,799 Iranians are legally permitted to vote in polling stations which are open up till 1800 local time on Friday. Out of the eligible Iranian population for voting, 3,960,000 are voting for the first time. In two provinces of Khorassan Razavi and Kurdestan, people will also cast votes for third by-elections for the fourth round of the Experts Assembly./end
