Velayati: West Approves Of Iran’s Right To Peaceful Nuclear Energy

Tehran, April 18, IRNA – Supreme Leader Advisor in International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said West, for the first time, approved of Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy in Istanbul negotiations between Iran and Group 5+1. On the sidelines of meeting with Egyptian media representatives here on Tuesday afternoon, Velayati called negotiations in Istanbul as a positive step and added after a long time, they (western countries) finally concluded that Iran does not accept the language of threat. He added that Iran had declared many times it is ready for negotiations under the condition that west quits making threats and get ready for talks in the framework of international regulations and by accepting Iranians' rights. Velayati expressed hope that the negotiation could continue positively in the future. Velayati, who is also secretary general of World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, referred to his meeting with a group of Egyptian media persons here and emphasized the necessity of exchanging views and listening to different ideas about regional developments./end
