Ayatollah Khatami: Syria’s Neighbors Should Beware Of US Mischief

Tehran, Aug 18, IRNA – Tehran’s Substitute Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami warned the neighboring countries of Syria to be aware of mischievous attitude of the US concerning Syria and not to be deceived by the Great Satan. Ayatollah Khatami made the remarks during a sermon at Tehran’s Friday prayers. “By listening to the US it is like going to war with an independent country (Syria) which enjoys support of the majority of the Syrian people,” Ayatollah Khatami added. Addressing the neighboring countries of Syria, Tehran’s Substitute Friday prayers leader said that if “you continue to confront Syria’s popular government, you will further lose the support of your own people as you have done right now.’ While recalling the criminal acts of al-Qaeda in Syria, Ayatollah Khatami reminded Syria’s neighbors that al-Qaeda will turn their guns at your governments as they are killing the Syrian people right now./end
