Pak President Hopes For Greater NAM Role In Int'l Ties

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA – Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said here Wednesday he hopes NAM would play a determining role in international relations. Speaking upon arrival in Tehran on Wednesday, Zardari said that Pakistani people and rulers are optimistic about the bright future of the movement under Iran's presidency of it. He said NAM members have an influential role in all global equations. “Solidarity among members would lead to spread of peace and most disputes, too, can thus be settled that way because the pillars of the movement are founded based on development, justice, peace and solidarity. So, the pillars of the NAM should be used in best possible manner.” He pointed to Iran's hosting of NAM for next three years and said that Iran is an active and influential country in the region and the world and its chairmanship over NAM would be a source of blessing./end
