Thai PM attaches importance to foreign policies
BANGKOK, November 10 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has placed significance to foreign policies in administering the country; while her visits overseas are mainly aimed at enlarging Thailand’s trade and investment links, as well as strengthening relations with allied economies.
Speaking during Premier Yingluck's weekly programme on Saturday morning, newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister Surapong Tovichakchaiku said that Premier Yingluck has made 17 overseas trips since she took office slightly more than a year ago, during which, among others, she explained to government leaders that Thailand’s politics is now stable and urged foreign business operators to invest in the Thai economy.
Surapong, who is also Foreign Minister, insisted that the incumbent Yingluck government will keep focusing on foreign policies.
Touching on the government's recent decision on allowing the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate on Thailand's political unrest in 2010, Surapong acknowledged that the ICC’s probe will not violate the country’s judicial system. (TNA)
