Syrian Envoy Discusses With Deputy FM

Tehran, Dec 26, IRNA – Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud discussed Syrian developments with Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Tuesday. In the meeting, ways to strengthen Syria resistance in confrontation with the US plans to weaken Syria and pivotal role of the resistance in the region was discussed. Amir-Abdollahian underlined Iran's support for Syrian nation and said that the sole way to end current crisis in Syria is dialogue between government and opposition groups that believe in peace talks without any foreign interference. Adnan Mahmoud was Syria Information Minister and has recently been appointed as Syria's ambassador to Tehran. He was already head of Syrian News Agency (SANA) and head of SANA bureau in Cairo./end
