Parliamentarians visit Chinese Taipei

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia parliamentary delegation has paid a working visit to the Chinese Taipei after adjourning of the spring session of parliament. In frames of the four-day stay, G.Bayarsaikhan, a head of the Standing committee on environment, food and agriculture; A.Ganbat, a head of the Sub-Committee on human rights, and S.Myambatsogt MP llegged the National Library of Taiwan to see the original copy of the "Secret History of the Mongols" in 20 tomes. It is considered that this creation is the oldest surviving Mongolian-language literary work, written for the Mongol royal family some time after Chingis Khaan's death in 1227 by anonymous author and probably originally in the Uyghur script, though the surviving texts all derive from transcriptions or translations into Chinese characters dating from the end of the 14th century. Before 1949, the original copy had been stored in the Beijing Library, and then was brought to Taiwan together with other historical documents and materials. The delegation became the first Mongolians to see the original copy of the Secret History of the Mongols. Since arriving in Taipei, it was not shown to the Mongolians. After this the MPs met a Vice Minister of Environment of Chinese Taipei to share views on policy of green development and projects possible for realization in Mongolia. The sides also exchanged views on opportunities to process Mongolian agricultural products by the latest technologies.
