Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation (RF) Sh.Altangerel met last weekend with Mr Aleksander Torshin, the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia.

Mr Torshin noted that the parliaments of our countries have good ties and underling an importance of activating them by a way of exchanging delegates. This summer in Mongolia Mr Torshin took part in presidential election observation and in the inauguration ceremony of the Mongolian State Head, and he really liked the way the last one was run--in front of the people and on the Sukhbaatar square, he said.
Mentioning Mongolia's active participation in the Baikal Economic Forum, Mr Torshin underlined that the two countries should exploit fruitfully this platform in expanding the regional cooperation and in increasing Mongolia's import of agricultural and light industrial products.
In response, Mr Altangerel thanked the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia for the audience, and expressed a satisfaction with appreciating the achievements of Mongolia gained in the last twenty years.

He is also confident that our parliament will support a widening of the bilateral friendly relations in new conditions, and added that the Mongolia-Russia relations should become closer.
